A Weekend with the Grandparents

My grandma finally got to come home from the hospital this weekend. After being in the hospital for over a month, she came home a different woman. Her body is just so tired from fighting this horrible disease. We spent the weekend out there helping take care of her. She really just needs 24 hour nursing care. Her care was a bit more than we could handle. I think that this will be an interesting week ahead. It's been a long month and seems to just keep getting longer. My dear grandpa is just not ready to let go of his sweetheart of over 60 years. I don't blame him!
Caleb always has a good time with grandpa!

As we were leaving it started to hail, HARD! The road was completely white, by the time we took off. What crazy spring break weather we have had!

A Wonderful Easter

I know I've been a little slow in posting. I don't know where this week has gone. I had all these great plans to get all this stuff done. And I can't say I have much to show for my week off. Oh well, we had a relaxing week.

They made some beautiful eggs!

We did a practice Easter egg hunt on Saturday, since we had nice weather. The forcast for Easter called for a lot of rain! They had a lot more fun outside.

We had a nice Easter, spent with family.

Caitlin made a creative carrot plate for the Easter bunny to enjoy!

Checking out their Easter baskets.

Caleb had a bit of a car theme going on.

All dressed up for church.

Once we got home, Caitlin got to really check out her new Mp3 player. The Easter bunny got a great deal on that one, $10 for a $120 player. I was impressed!

Now, Grandma Browne, what do you suppose she might be listening to, over and over and over again? Yep...you guessed it "Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate's life for me! and various other pirate songs. At least their only in her ears now!

What a little princess I have!

Of course Caleb thought that it was pretty cool too.

We shared a wonderful meal and afternoon with papa's mom and niece. Caleb enjoyed being with grandma! What cute little bunnies they make!

Papa had to be forced to be Mr. Bunny for the photo booth.

We did an Easter egg hunt inside and the kids made a haul. Caleb had the open and dump routine down pat! He was pretty good at eating all the candy too!

Caitlin's Play

Today we got to go watch Caitlin's play, at school. She did a GREAT job. She's been practicing hard for a month now. She was quite the little performer.
They had a lot of fun making their scenery too.

She was pig number 2, in The Three Little Pigs and The Big Bad Wolf.

The Past Week

Caleb had his Easter party at Preschool this week.

Here he is with his preschool buddies!

...doing the craft

...playing the bunny hop game

...and eating some yummy snack!

My cute little bunny!

Mom's Birthday!

My mom wanted to take the kids bowling for HER birthday. Seemed silly to me, but hey, it was her birthday. So, bowling we went.

It was actually a very cool bowling alley.

Everyone had a lot of fun!

Time Flies!

Wow, where have the last 3 weeks gone?!? The last two weekends have been so busy. When I lose my weekends, the week seems to go in fast forward!

Two weeks ago, we spent the weekend taking care of grandpa again. Thankfully this visit was not as eventful as last, no diabetic lows! Just laundry, cleaning, and visiting.

Caleb absolutely adores his great grandpa. He always has to play cars with him and follows him around like a little puppy dog. It's so cute. I think it might make grandpa a little dizzy, having Caleb running circles around him, but he claims to enjoy it!

Caleb is as infatuated with their big tub, as I was as a kid! He always insists on taking at least 3 baths, during our visits.

Last weekend, I was able to sneak away to the beach for the whole weekend, for our annual teachers retreat.
We enjoyed ourselves, but sat around eating WAY too much. You take 6 women who pack too much food, away for a weekend together, and you end up with enough food to feed an army for a week!
We only had to officially work on school stuff for about half the time, so it was a fairly relaxing weekend, for me at least. My sweet husband had the kids for the weekend, three whole days and 2 nights. He did a fabulous job. The way he spoiled the kids, they're probably wishing I was gone way more often. They got happy meals, bowling at their usual bed time, bed time about 3 hours later than usual, monopoly marathons, and lots of yummy meals. I wish we had that much fun, when I was home! I guess someone has to be the bad guy! We all had a nice weekend though.

Priceless!

Now this is a boy after my own heart! I found him outside today "vacuuming the leaves up, so we could have a picnic." I guess he wanted a clean picnic. What a cutie!

Countdown Tag...About Me

10 years ago -- Wow, I was a senior in high school. That couldn't have been ten years ago! I had much blonder hair and that prebaby body! Man, those were the days!

9 daily uses -- computer, internet, lotion, chap stick, makeup, brush, toothbrush, floss, a sponge(to wipe up messes)

8 things on my to do list -- laundry, go through my "continuous pile" on my desk, clean the turtle cage out, pick up my messy house from the weeks' busyness, get my Easter decorations out, make Easter frames for Caleb's party, get my curriculum ready for school for the next 2 weeks, put pictures on my preschool blog

7 places I have lived -- Portland, OR; Gresham, OR; Lehi, Ut ; Orem, UT ; and HERE. I know that's not 7, but what can I say!

6 things I enjoy -- when my kids play nicely, having quiet time to myself, cuddling up with my hubby to watch a movie, junk food, having snuggle time with the kids on the couch, hanging out with girlfriends(It's been WAY too long!)

5 facts you don't know about me -- I have a hard time relaxing until all my chores are done., I LOVE a bargain and can't resist the clearance isles. I will often buy things I don't even need, if they are such a super deal.(I've learned to try to avoid even looking, but it's oh so hard!) I worry WAY too much about what other people think about me. I HAVE to eat something sweet, after the kids are in bed. (Yes, that is why I have about 10 pounds to lose!) I'm an emotional eater. When I get stressed or upset, I want junk food and I eat it. ( Yes, this is also adding to that 10 pounds!) I have to have painted toes at ALL times!

4 jobs I've had -- Ice cream scooper at Baskin Robbins, telemarketer that gives surveys(hated!), receptionist in my dad's office, and preschool teacher

3 bad habits -- negative self-talk, spending too much time on the computer, cleaning too much

2 books I last finished -- Supernanny how to get the best from your kids and 100 questions every first time home buyer should ask. I know pretty boring. I like to read informative books.

1 favorite -- Everyone in the house to be happy and content.
