Summer Fun

With temperatures in the 80's the past 2 weeks(90's today) and Caitlin out of school, it has DEFINITELY felt like summer. It sure has been nice!

You know it's summer, when you here the ice cream truck jingle, throughout the neighborhood.

Caitlin wanted to buy them both a Spongebob ice cream.

Cooling off with friends.

I don't know what is up with the construction goggles.

Drying of in the hammock.

Watching a movie in the shade.

Where did my baby go?!?

So, last night, Ryan brushed the kids teeth for me, since I was cleaning the carpets. He came out and said, "Have you noticed Caleb's shark tooth?" I laughed and said no, thinking I was missing some funny conversation they had. He told me to come look at it. I was horrified to see this!

As the thoughts of "Oh my goodness, we're going to have to get his tooth pulled." and "I don't have a dentist I like yet." start rattling through my head, I touched it to see if it was loose at all. I almost gagged as it almost fell into my hand. Then I started thinking, "How could my son be so unobservant to never notice it was loose." Oh my.

So, my baby Caleb, is officially not a baby anymore. He will no doubt lose his first tooth this week. :( We're really missing Nana now. I think she pulled ALL of Caitlin's teeth out. They were a great team. Loose teeth kind of gag Ryan and I. I think Caleb will leave it alone until it physically falls out of his mouth, on it's own!
And Tada!
He asked me to pull it out tonight. It fell right out. He was excited for a few minutes. Then, he was so tired, he started crying because he was going to miss his tooth. What a goof!

More Projects!

We finally worked on the front of the house. It has been bugging me for quite a while.

Ripping the sod out and putting the bed in.

Finished that and got my little trees in.

Got all the ground cover planted and the weed barrier down.

Then came the rock. One and a half tons of rock is a LOT of rock to load, unload, then place. We rented a truck and went and got what we wanted.

Putting it in.

Glad to have that project behind us! We still have a small pile of rock left, but it should be taken care of, in no time.

Back to Work

I know I've been slacking on my blog, but I have a hard time staying in the house, when it's so nice out. We've also been busy with a landscaping project, that we're still not finished with and PAINTING.

Well, the paint brushes have come out of storage, once again, much to my dismay. After painting for 11 hours one day and a few more half days, Caitlin's bedroom is done! I still have Caleb's bedroom and the trim in the 2 downstairs bathrooms, but that's it for a while. The walls in the 2 bathrooms can WAIT!

This is NEVER a good sight, in my book.

I think I get a little TOO into my caulking.

I never knew that I would need so many "helpers."

Halfway there!

I know, boring color, but I'm NOT painting these vaulted ceilings again anytime soon!

GREEN!

Yes, I am miserable, when I'm living in the rainy northwest, but OH how I've missed the green. It's been just delightful, this past month, to have the green coming back. Oh how I've missed it!

This right here, is just perfection to me.

I LOVE this bush by our front door. I don't know what it is, but it has the cutest flowers and smells WONDERFUL.

This can't be good! Stinkin' cat!

We've had a few days in the 80's. Caleb thought it was definitely time to drag the pool out.

I'm sure that was exciting!
Oh my children. Can't you just feel the love!
Never fails, after it's warm, this comes. We woke up to this 2 days later.
At least it melts fast, this time of year! It was snowing and sunny, at the same time. STRANGE!
Caitlin is now off track for about a month. Tonight, we enjoyed not having an early bedtime and walked to the park around 7(this is usually bedtime). It was fun, although it scared me a little, how wild and crazy it seemed to LEAVE the house at 7. Boy do we lead an exciting life.
