Fall is in the air!

Can it really be?!?
1. I can't believe it's October!
2. I can't believe that it's truly fall and summer is over.
3. Denver's average first snowfall is in 2 weeks! It's been in the 80's for the past few weeks. I just can't and won't wrap my head around that one yet. Ignorance is bliss, right?
Well, we actually have had some free time with Ryan this week. This is a first, since we've been here. All of our free time with him has been consumed with house stuff. While I'm on that note. We finally got the seller's final signatures. Inspection and appraisal are Friday morning. I pray that all goes smoothly! Anyway, I've been wanting to go up to the mountains to see the changing leaves on all the Aspens. Ryan took me and it was gorgeous! I haven't seen anything like it before. The trees turn such a deep gold. It's absolutely breathtaking. I wish we could have spent the whole day hiking around, but we had to get back to pick Caitlin up from school.
Obviously the pictures don't do it justice and of course I had a hard time picking my favorites to post. So, you get to see a lot of tress. :)

All of the brown(gold) spots on the far away pictures are the Aspens. Absolutely amazing!

Okay, now some people pictures. Hope I didn't bore you with the scenery!

My boys always look so happy in pictures.

Yes, you will see a lot of the light saber in these pictures. Can you guess who he's going to be for Halloween?

My cuties!

I guess Caleb is turning into a pretty good photographer too. I was surprised to see us even in the picture let alone centered...and zoomed in!

You'll notice I didn't hide the light saber very well. Caleb couldn't bear to put it on the ground, while he took our picture. "It might get dirty!"

I thought these plants were just too cool to pass up!

Have I mentioned lately...

...how much I LOVE having this bike path out back.
It's such a quiet, peaceful walk, with the constant sound of crickets, birds, squirrels, and the creek. It's the most I have EVER enjoyed exercising! I just have to make sure I get out of the house earlier. It's SO hot by 11am!
I always love seeing the diversity on the path too. There are young moms with babies, old men with canes, casual bikers of all sorts, and then the high speed cyclists that go whizzing by. It's great to see EVERYONE out enjoying the outdoors. I'm excited that a fork of this path goes right behind the new house too. There are 300 miles of paths that wind through the entire metro area. I love it!

Caleb likes it, when we take the fork that leads to this park.He loves chasing the squirrels!

A Caleb Funny

On our walk this morning, Caleb spotted a "wish" growing on the side of the path. He all but jumped out of the stroller to grab it. He hopped back in and blew it. A few minutes later he says, "Why is it taking so long?" Not really paying attention, I ask "why is what taking so long?" He says, "I don't see Princess Leah anywhere!" I laughed as he continued to look in all different directions for the rest of our walk, clearly expecting her to just appear. What a nut!

Our house...hopefully!

Here is your picture, mom! ;)
It's a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath little house with a full, unfinished basement. It was built in 2001 and doesn't really need a total surface gut, like most of the others we've looked at. No one has lived in it for a while, so, the yard needs some TLC. It's 5 minutes away from a nice big outdoor mall that has EVERYTHING! I'm excited about that!

It's official...

...we're Coloradoans!

Complete with license plates and driver's licenses!

It was kind of sad taking my Oregon ones off today. It definitely made the move feel permanent. Yes, I know, buying a house is a bit more permanent, but there was something about the significance of taking Oregon off and putting Colorado on!

So, we're still waiting on the seller's signature on the final addendum's. I'm getting a little nervous. It seems like we signed them a month ago!(No, it hasn't even been a week.) I'm at least getting more use to this WAITING process! I will be glad when the process is over and we're in OUR house!

On a side note, I have to share a few of Caleb's words that just cracked me up this week. Both the kids were in bed and Caleb came out with a serious look on his face. He says "Mom, I sure wish that I had one of those white wish things. Then I could blow it and wish that Princess Leah was my wife!" I had a hard time holding back the laughter. He's a little taken away by Princess Leah and Star Wars as a whole! What a goof!

Offer Accepted!!!

Yahoo! We FINALLY got a yes. As I stacked this contract on top of the 4 other rejected ones, I started to wonder if we'd ever get into a house. I was a little dumbfounded when our Realtor called with good news. I was hoping that my good feelings weren't in vain. I had a good feeling about this house, since I saw the listing. Although it's not EVERYTHING that we wanted, I think that it will be a good little starter home for us. Please pray that everything will go smoothly, as we continue on this journey. We are suppose to close in the middle of October. I know that will be here, before we know it. I'm excited!

A Visit From Nana

It was SO great to have my mom around for a whole week. I sure have missed her!

Of course, the kids enjoyed her visit too!

We finally got to take a trip to the mountains. It was SO pretty.

My son!!! I can't imagine where he comes up with this stuff, RYAN!
This is what our usual family photos turn out.

The kids had fun exploring around this lake we found.

Caleb and his Nana!

We had fun at Dinosaur Ridge.

These dinosaur foot prints, preserved in the rock, were pretty cool.

Does he look happy, or what!

We found this little park, on one of our morning walks

I thought these cactus were neat. I'm still enamored by all of the new plants and wildlife. I guess, when you live in pretty much one place, for 28 years, everything else is new and exciting! We also saw a coyote, on our walk this morning. He was only a couple yards of the bike path. That took me by surprise. I'm use to coyotes out in the country, but in the middle of the city? I guess there is enough open space to keep them happy.

After our long walk, we took a dip in the pool(and hot tub).

With mom here, to watch the kids, Ryan and I even got to go on a date. It's been a while! It was nice to get away for the evening. Thanks mom!

So, you've probably seen more of me, in this post, than in this whole blog! I guess that's what happens when someone ELSE is taking pictures! Don't get too use to it!
