Happy Birthday Caleb!

December 26th,
my baby boy turned 5!

I don't know where the years have gone. I have to say, only the annoyance of feeling like I was in labor for an entire month could have possessed me to be induced the day after Christmas. I don't know what I was thinking!(besides "I wanted this baby out a month ago!") I feel so bad for him. No one, including me, has the energy to celebrate the day after Christmas. Actually this year didn't feel too overwhelming, probably since we've had the least going on this Christmas season, since he was born. No family to run around and visit, no work for me, and no functions to attend. It was a pretty relaxing holiday.

Okay, mom Browne's post got me reminiscing. I got a little carried away with the old pictures, but it's so easy to forget all the little things. I love remembering what they were like, when they were newborn. Almost makes me want another one...ALMOST!

This sure doesn't!
It's so amazing what the human body can do though.
This was the night before we went into the hospital.
Our new little boy was born around 8pm December 26th.
8lb 3oz
He had a bit of a rough start, with the cord wrapped tightly around his neck, but he snapped out of it pretty quickly. Thank heavens! That was probably the scariest 5 minutes of my life.

Our new addition

A Few Days Old

I still can't get over all that dark red hair. It just didn't quite fit!

This year, we found a place that had indoor go karts that he was tall enough to go on. We splurged and took the kids to Amazing Jake's. It's kind of like Chuckie Cheese on steroids, with go karts, laser tag, putt putt golf, a rock climbing wall(neither of the kids had any interest in doing that), bumper cars, and various other rides and games. They had a lot of fun.

Anything Star Wars is GREAT with Caleb.

Of course Caleb loved riding in the cars!

Happy Birthday to you!

Opening Presents

Cool cars, Auntie Stef!

Thanks for the awesome fire truck, Grandma and Grandpa!

All I keep hearing is roger, roger.

Thanks Nana and Papa.

A line up of most of the new cars.
This boy and his vehicles!

My boys, lounging.
After he went to bed after 10, I found him back in the living room, playing with his Star Wars figures.

Merry Christmas!

We had a pretty relaxing Christmas Eve. Caitlin tracked Santa on NORAD Santa ALL day. There was quite a celebration, when he was finally in the United States. We took care of some last minute things, got Caleb's birthday decorations up, made our coffee cake for the morning, and we were off to bed. Of course Caitlin couldn't fall asleep, thus meaning I couldn't go to bed until way later than I wanted.

They got to open their Christmas pajamas and one other present, on Christmas Eve.

Caleb has been glued to these Star Wars Lego sets, since he opened them. Maybe next year we can spring for the big set!

Christmas Morning
Well, Caleb crawled into my bed at 5:30. Thank goodness he went back to sleep for a little longer! The kids had a wonderful Christmas. They of course got way too many things. I already had fun spending my Christmas money on Christmas decorations for next year. Thanks Mom and Dad Browne! Unfortunately Caitlin was sick on Christmas Eve, Ryan on Christmas, and Caleb and I started dragging last night. Now we're all miserable with colds together.

Posing with their stockings

BENDAROOS!
Yes, the annoying commercials paid off. Caitlin was so excited that Santa brought these.

As soon as we get some snow, WATCH OUT!

Thanks Nana and Papa for the cool new scooter.

He decided he needed a bell for his scooter.
I bet your glad you don't have to listen to this all day!
Caitlin was a LITTLE excited about her new camera.
Thanks Nana and Papa, now Caitlin has a better camera than I do!

Thank You Grandma and Grandpa Browne.
These igloo makers are going to get a good workout. Now we just need some fresh snow!

They're going to enjoy their new books.

Caitlin loves her new turtle necklace, Auntie Stefanie! Thank you!

Thanks great grandma and grandpa! He loves his new cars!

I quickly wondered WHAT I was thinking, when we opened the Moon Sand. Caitlin has been asking for it for 3 years now. I thought I would finally get it for them. Oh my! Sandboxes have no place INSIDE! Although they did play with it pretty much the entire day, I spent over an hour cleaning it up. I'm not sure if it will be making too many appearances. I'm thinking it will be lots of fun OUTSIDE!

Marley had a good, relaxing Christmas too.
