It's warming up!

Daddy was home yesterday, so, we decided to finally drag him sledding. Unfortunately it was not a good day for the slopes. It was SO hot, in our snow clothes and SO wet, without them. The snow was too sticky and it wasn't very fast. Oh well, maybe next time! I think everyone had fun anyway!
Daddy, being a good example, playing in the water BEFORE we even started!
Checking out the path
Yahoo...well, almost!

They got tired out fast! It's hard tromping back up the hill, when it still has 10" of snow on it!

This is all you want to do, when you try sledding, when it's 65 degrees out!
Of course, daddy had to add a little excitement. Who says you can't use a sled as a snowboard?
The trip back up STINKS!

Heading back home, in the water, again!

Their snow clothes were SO wet. I can't imagine why!

Ryan felt he needed to keep doing flips into the snow. I have 3 kids, I tell you!

This is what a yard looks like, when 18" of snow melts in 48 hours. Yuck!

Today it was in the 70's and the kids had a blast playing in the runoff that was streaming down our hill.

You'd think we were sitting at the beach in the summer. Never mind the piles of snow!

Then, they started this little adventure. The things my kids come up with. Caitlin called this "rafting down the raging rapids." :)
The videos below make me laugh! Oh to be a kid again. Life's simple pleasures.

My Birthday Snowstorm

Wow, did we get snowed on! It snowed from the afternoon on my birthday until the evening the day after. It was fun for awhile, until I realized it wasn't going to stop! Mom had to get to the airport, because she had to start back to work. I was scared to death to take my car out on the road with over a foot of snow ON the road. Luckily my sweet husband came home from work to take her. I felt so bad. Of course we'd get that amount of snow, the one time that we actually HAD to go somewhere.
This is what it looked like in the morning, after I had shoveled around 11 the night before.
There is just something SO wrong about this picture!
Caleb in his "snow fort."

Helping me shake the snow off the trees. There were many broken branches around the neighborhood.

So much snow!

The birds enjoyed a little shelter!

The backyard, near the end. (Notice the lights and their little "caps" are now covered!)

FINALLY over. All my lights in the front were covered too!

Ahhh, DONE shoveling. I'm STILL sore, 2 days later!
My piles lining the driveway were past waist high, which made it very hard to shovel onto!

The boys hanging out on their "boat."
Having friends is GREAT!
What IS the preoccupation with the water?!?
Had to throw a picture of the baby bunny in.

There is a light under here...SOMEWHERE!

Happy Birthday...to ME!

A little birthday morning shoveling.

We woke up to a few inches of snow, then it rained for most of the afternoon. After much convincing, my mom got me out of the house for a pedicure. I usually don't venture out, once the white stuff coats the ground, but this trip was worth it! Thanks mom!

I love this gal!

Too bad these babies will be covered in boots for a few days. I know I have a few flip flop days coming soon though!;

By the time we came out of the nail place, it was hailing with thunder and lightning.
Opening ALL the presents

Boy were there a LOT!

Ryan got me an Old Navy gift certificate so that I was forced to buy myself some clothes.

He also found me this little gadget. I'm always complaining, after a shower, because the middle of my back itches SO much, since I can't get any lotion on it. Now, my problem is solved!

Caleb has thought I needed these for QUITE some time!

My mom got me my first pairs of crocs. I was beginning to feel like I was missing out on something special. They are very comfortable!

She also got me something to hang in the living room. Finally! It will be nice to have something on the wall.

Then, my daughter's gifts. She convinced her Nana to take her birthday shopping and boy did she. You'll have to see if you can sense a theme. :)

She made me this adorable card, since she couldn't find one at the store. And trust me, she looked.

I have been wanting a bookmark.

Cute!

This was her favorite. It had to be just right.

My fridge has never looked so good!

All the loot! Do you think that my obsession has mad an impression on my daughter? Hmmm...maybe!

She was quite proud of herself! Thanks for all the help, Nana. And thanks for all the fun stuff. It really was fun!
After we got our toes done, it really started snowing. Caitlin and Ryan did the second shoveling for me. My sweet, sweet neighbor came and did the third.

All the trees. I know there a lot of pictures, but usually the snow it too dry to stick on anything. So, it was fun to see everything coated. This snow was SO wet!

Ryan and I were able to get out to dinner, despite the 10" of snow on the ground. It was very nice!
Peanut Butter pie, yum!

Poor Marley got thrown out in the snow.

Some cool snow pictures, before bedtime!

One last shovel, before bed!
